Jesus summed up the commandments very simply. Love God and love your neighbor as much as you love yourself. Romans 12: 9-21 lays out very nicely how God expects us to connect with others, including our enemies. It begins with wanting your love to be genuine and ends with the familiar verses of giving your enemy food and water when needed. A challenge for each family member would be to write down ways to show what we should be doing to enhance our relationships, whether casual, intimate or global. After that, choose one to do this week. Lord, we pray that you would help us be more like you in our treatment of others. Continue to bless us as you have so that we may be a blessing to others. Amen |
