Devotion

"Lord, help me grow up before I grow old."
Can you look over the last year and say, “I know I have grown in Christ this year?” Have you read the Bible, spent time in prayer, participated in small group Bible studies? How about signing up for a "Strength Building" class or a woman's BWCA retreat? Maybe think about joining the choir or take your family to a Christian concert or two! How about helping serve a meal at "Family Table", deliver a meal on wheels or collect food for the food shelf? Have you been asked to sub teach at Noahs Ark preschool, guide a group of 8th grade girls to be confirmed, help fill backpacks with school supplies, provide dresses for HS girls to attend prom, help send care packages to college students or put together health kits for Haiti? There is so much to know and so many areas in which to grow. Pray today that God will help you begin this year on a healthy spiritual diet so you will grow as a Christian. Father, I need to grow in You. Help me today fulfill this desire to become more spiritual. Help me study Your word and talk to You in prayer and be a good and faithful servant. I desire more of You and Your word. Feed me! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen |
