Devotion
for March 19 by Sue Cardinal
We are all teachers and sometimes we don’t even know that we are making an impact on someone’s life. I think everyone has had a teacher, Sunday school teacher, or a Pastor that has really impacted our life by something they have said to us. It can be just some little thing that can really make us think. I remember a Sunday school teacher I had when I was about 10 years old. She was a rather crabby older lady named Martha, but she said something that I will never forget. We were memorizing a prayer and she told us that God doesn’t care where you pray, in fact she said you could pray anywhere and that you could even pray while you are going to the bathroom. Yikes, of course we all giggled and thought that was about the craziest thing we had ever heard, but to this day I still see Martha standing in front of us. I am pretty certain that Martha was a very nice lady after all and she probably never thought that 48 years later Susie Larson would still recall that important bit of information. But this is just an example of how much we can impact children. How comforting is it though to know that God is with us to the end of the day. Things can get bad and the world can seem like it is falling in on us, but just knowing that God is with us and will never leave sure gives me the power to keep going. God, you are so powerful and amazing. You work your wonders through so many people in so many different ways teaching us to grow spiritually and be better human beings. Thank you for that. |
